The
rules of MFA Consular department for
invitation letters for foreign citizens:

Please read carefully these rules before
coming to Kazakstan. Take into
consideration that consular rules for
foreign citizens in each country are
different and Kazakstan laws should be
obligatory observed. This information is
prepared specially to save your money and
health.
Invitation for receiving visa
in the Embassy of Kazakstan abroad
For proceeding invitation letter the
following details are required:
- full name (exactly as in passport)
- date of birth
- sex
- nationality
- passport number
- passport issue date
- passport expiry date
- Kazakstan cities to be visited
- period of stay in Kazakstan
- the city where the visa is going to be
obtained (country/city)
º Passport should be valid at least for
6 months after expiring the period of
visa validity.
Request for invitation should be
submitted in written by fax or e-mail not
less then 9-10 working days prior to the
intended date of arrival to Kazakstan.
The reference number is given within 1-3
working days after applying to the
Consular department of MFA.
Inviting company sends by fax the
letter-invitation with reference number
to applied person, Consular department of
MFA sends reference number to Kazakstan
embassy in the city where the visa is
going to be obtained within 7 days.
º It is impossible to receive a visa in
the consular section of the airport upon
arrival (it is possible only in a very
extra cases or for Government
delegations).
º The invitation with reference number
does not guarantee the receiving of visa,
the Consul of Kazakstan embassy or the
Consular department's director has a
right not to issue visa without any
explanations.
Travelling without visa
º If a foreign citizen stays in
Kazakstan without visa, after entering
Kazakstan he will be fined in the amount
of 300$ and should pay extra 70$ for
getting exit visa.
Accident insurance
º If a person already has the insurance,
the insurance company should pay off all
expenses in case of accident. If a person
does not have an insurance policy, he
should beforehand in written form inform
the inviting company about it.
Registration and visa
extension in OVIR
º Non CIS national staying longer than
72 hours in Kazakstan should be
registered at OVIR (it means the
Kazakstan visa should be registered)
within 3 working days after arrival.
Failure to do so will result in penalty
of amount 150$. Inviting company
registers its clients in OVIR.
º Person coming to Kazakstan by
international flights should have
Kazakstan custom's stamp in the passport
(it is necessary for OVIR registration).
º Person coming from CIS country should
have a copy of ticket he (she) entered to
Kazakstan (for OVIR registration).
Persons coming to Kazakstan for a period
of 3 month and longer should hold an
international AIDS certificate.
º Kazakstan visa can be extended maximum
for 2 months (it should be still valid
while applying for extension). Visa's
extension takes from 3 to 5 days. OVIR
commission will study each case and the
period of extension depends on its
decision.
º There is no need for special OVIR
permission to visit other Kazakstan
cities. But in some case it is necessary
(for a closed areas for example).
