Hunting with huntsbirds and greyhound dogs.
Hunting with huntsbirds is an ancient way of hunting.
To preserve the unique national traditions of Kazakh people there was organized a center of teaching young people this type of hunting the center holds competitions and exhibition for lovers and tourists. The center is located in a picturesque place 130 km from Almaty, not far from Altyn-Emel preserve, in the mountains of Sogety in Kokpek gorge, where the mountain air is crystal clear. People in the settlement are busy with sheep and cattle breeding, growing food as well as exotic food products such as: kumyz, shubat, airan, kurt and others.
People here are really hospital as anywhere in the East with the colouring of East and Europe. Aksakals-berkutchi (Kazakh old men breeding huntsbirds) know century-old traditions of these beautiful birds and pass on their professional experience and secrets to the young generation of berkutchi - kusbegi.
Having watched hunting with huntsbirds you will get in touch with the nature treasure of our people.
This is one of the programs where you'll stay alone in the nature and deep into the ancient traditions and culture of Kazakh people.
This program will give you an opportunity to get from the problems and to get into a fairy tale.
Hunting with huntsbirds and greyhound dogs.
Subject of hunting: fox, wolf wild dog, hare, corsair, pheasant.
Period of hunting: November 15 - March 30.
Duration: 3 days.
Huntsbirds: Golden Eagle.
Greyhounds: Taza, Tobet (number of dogs from 3 to 5).
Numbers of tourists: up to 10 persons.
Radius of hunting: from 5 to 20 km from the base camp.
The hunting may by combined - Golden Eagle + Dogs and Golden Eagle separately and Dogs separately.
WARNING! FORBIDDEN coming with the tourists own huntsbirds.
- Tourists may only take photos of the hunting;
The distance from Almaty to the base camp of hunting is about 130 km.
Transportation: by car or helicopter (on the client's wish).
Accommodation:
- A house in aul (a small settlement), at the client's wish in urta, out the aul (urta is a Kazakh national house made of thick felt).
- Toilet in the yard.
- No sauna.
